Description
Haywood Animal Hospital, located in beautiful Hendersonville, North Carolina, is seeking a compassionate and motivated Associate Veterinarian to join our family-oriented team. We are a well-established, full-service small animal hospital dedicated to practicing high-quality medicine and surgery while providing exceptional care to both our patients and their people. Our experienced and supportive staff creates a collaborative environment where doctors are able to focus on medicine and enjoy coming to work each day.
We pride ourselves on being a family-friendly practice that truly understands the challenges of balancing a career with life outside of work. We value your time away from the hospital just as much as your time with our patients. Our schedule is designed to support a healthy work-life balance—we close at 5:00 PM during the week, have no weekend hours, and no after-hours emergencies, thanks to three nearby emergency clinics that provide overnight care.
Located in the mountains of Western North Carolina, our hospital is just minutes from Asheville and surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in the country. Hendersonville offers a welcoming small-town community with easy access to incredible hiking, waterfalls, outdoor adventures, local restaurants, and vibrant arts and culture.
Haywood Animal Hospital is a growing practice with a loyal and diverse clientele who are deeply committed to their pets’ health and willing to pursue referral care when needed. While our primary focus is dogs and cats, we occasionally see exotic pets as well, so there is an opportunity for a doctor with an interest in exotics to develop that aspect of the practice if desired. However, experience with exotics is absolutely not required.
Our hospital is well-equipped to support excellent patient care, including:
IDEXX in-house laboratory (CBC, chemistry, and urinalysis analyzers)
Computed radiography with rapid, high-quality imaging
Digital dental radiography
Brand-new high-speed dental equipment
Ultrasound
Heska IV pumps
Fully computerized, cloud-based practice management system
We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, including:
Competitive salary
Health insurance
Flexible scheduling
Retirement plan with 4% employer match
Continuing education stipend
VIN membership
Professional liability insurance
Paid state licensing and professional dues
Full-time doctors enjoy a 4-day work week with a daily lunch break, allowing for a sustainable and enjoyable schedule.
New graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply, and we are happy to provide mentorship in a supportive learning environment.
If you are looking to practice excellent medicine with a wonderful team in one of the most beautiful areas of the country, we would love to speak with you.
