Associate Veterinarian Responsibilities
As an Associate Veterinarian, you will:
- Provide comprehensive medical care for companion animals
- Perform physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations
- Develop and implement treatment plans
- Perform routine and advanced soft tissue surgical procedures
- Conduct dental examinations and dental procedures
- Educate pet owners on preventive care and treatment options
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Collaborate with veterinarians and support staff to ensure exceptional patient care
- Build long-term relationships with clients and their pets
- Uphold the highest standards of veterinary medicine and patient advocacy
- Perform soft tissue surgery and dentistry

Requirements & Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD) degree from an accredited veterinary school
- Active veterinary license in Michigan, or ability to obtain licensure prior to start date
- Minimum of 2+ years of small animal clinical experience preferred
- Proficiency in companion animal medicine and surgery
- Strong communication and client education skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Commitment to high-quality patient care and client service
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience performing routine soft tissue surgeries independently
- Interest in dentistry and preventive medicine
- Confidence managing medical and surgical cases from diagnosis through treatment
- Experience mentoring veterinary support staff or newer veterinarians
- Interest in developing specialty services or advanced clinical skills
