Description
Patient Care & Nursing
Provide superb patient care with compassion and professionalism
Obtain accurate patient histories and vital signs
Monitor hospitalized patients and maintain detailed medical records
Educate clients on treatment plans, medications, and post-operative care
Laboratory & Diagnostics
Collect laboratory samples including blood, urine, fecal, and cytology specimens
Draw blood safely and efficiently
Operate and maintain in-house laboratory equipment
Prepare and submit external laboratory samples as needed
Anesthesia & Surgery Support
Administer and monitor general anesthesia
Calculate drug dosages accurately
Place and maintain intravenous (IV) catheters
Assist with surgical preparation and recovery
Monitor patients during recovery and provide post-operative care
Radiology
Perform high-quality diagnostic radiographs
Perform and process dental radiographs (dental x-rays)
Ensure proper radiation safety protocols are followed
Requirements
Qualifications
Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT preferred, depending on state requirements)
Experience in a small animal hospital setting preferred
Proficiency in phlebotomy, anesthesia monitoring, IV catheter placement, and radiology
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational and communication skills
Commitment to high-quality patient care and client service
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and restrain animals of varying sizes
Ability to stand for extended periods
Comfortable working in a clinical environment with exposure to animals, cleaning agents, and medical equipment
Team Collaboration
Work effectively and professionally within a veterinary team
Communicate clearly with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and client service staff
Maintain a positive, respectful, and supportive work environment
